Satellite Communication Terminal documents athlete’s journey into Guinness book

Ottawa, Canada – April 14, 2010 - A young Olympic hopeful from Mexico has set a new sailing world record and her journey was tracked using a SkyWave satellite communication terminal.

Tania Elías Calles Wolf navigated her way into the Guinness world record by sailing 330 nautical miles in 65 hours and 19 minutes in a laser yacht by wind alone. Her journey took her from Los Cabos, Baja California, to Bahia de Banderas in Mexico’s Nayarit state.

The journey of the three-time Central American Games Gold Medalist  in the Laser Radial class was tracked in real-time by a SkyWave satellite terminal in conjunction with a mapping service provided by SkyWave Solution Provider, Tecnor.
